A conscientious and highly-skilled language professional with over 25 years of experience, Betina has a truly unique background. She was raised, schooled and gained extensive work experience in both, Mexico and the U.S. While many families migrate from one country to another once and relocate in their new country permanently, Betina's experience was to live in each country for several years, relocating back and forth. This experience provided her a uniquely strong foundation in colloquial language, business, legal, technical, and medical terminology and culture, in both Spanish and English.
Betina started her career in Mexico City, working in government, in business, and in the legal field, gaining extensive experience in translation between Spanish and English, as well as interpretation. While working for the Mexican federal government, she translated foreign commercial and financial documentation and communications. She translated patent applications, transfer of technology agreements, and collaborated on the translation into English of the Mexican Law on Inventions and Trademarks.
When Betina finally settled down in Chicago, she continued gaining experience in the legal, business and healthcare industries. Her translation and interpretation work included employee relations meetings and presentations, and communications materials, as well as investments and benefits-related work, and legal depositions.
Betina and her husband, Joe, met while working in the same building in Downtown Chicago. They raised their two daughters, Monica and Maria, in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. Almost 13 years ago, Joe and Betina took a giant leap of faith and moved their family to Phoenix AZ, quickly adapting to life in the Southwest. She is grateful to be serving the local community.
Continuously honing her language skills through workshops and real-life bicultural experiences, Betina is consistently relied upon for accurate and effective translation.
